"The Secret" Behind Our New Affiliate Platform
March 5th, 2007 by Mike Reining Read more about ArticlesRegular readers of this blog may have noticed that Mike and I have not been blogging as regularly lately.
The reason for this is that in January we struck a huge partnership deal that's been eating up much of our time. We were asked to invent a new kind of affiliate system.
But it wasn't just for any ordinary affiliate platform. It's an affiliate platform for the seminar being launched around the hit documentary "The Secret".
You may have seen "The Secret" on Oprah, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Time Magazine, Larry King Live and a host of other media outlets.
What is the Secret?
"The Secret" is a 2 hour documentary with a self-help angle. And it's been taking the world by storm. It's about using your mind to attract wealth - something we think most readers of this blog (or any entrepreneur for that matter) will really relate to.
MindValley teamed up with Bob Proctor and Jack Canfield, two of the teachers featured in the hit documentary to help launch a new seminar titled "The Science of Getting Rich". We're handling the technology, internet marketing and affiliate platform.

Guys - I have always found your blog very interesting and enjoy reading it.
However, I'm not sure about your new venture. Maybe I'm missing out on something but isn't it a classic pyramid scheme? People are just getting rich by having affiliates and sub-affiliates sign up. I know they get a book, dvd, website, etc. but in the end, why isn't it a pyramid scheme?
Hi Jim,
The Secret is a phenomenal movie and the Secret Science of Getting Rich is a great product that can help people learn how to bring the law of attraction into their life.
It teaches you how to activate these universal laws in all areas of your life. The fact that you can make money with it online by promoting it is just an additional side benefit. It is a good one but if you don't believe in the product, then don't buy it.
People pay up to $10K to see Anthony Robbins speak for example and the SGR Product is one of the best personal improvement products I have come across.
Also, just about any online venture it has a two tiered affiliate system. Amazon has it, eBay has it, the list goes on. The Secret SGR program also uses a two tiered affiliate system and that is it.
So, please don't confuse this with a pyramid scheme. That is very different and not something we would get involved with.
I'm teetering on this myself. My wife made me watch the video and I was impressed. it's a chunk of $$ to put upfront but I don't know..this one might be worth it. Most people are very skeptical of anything like this, I'm one of those persons. But..you never know I guess.
"two tiered affiliate system."
What does that mean? With Amazon, the affiliates are all selling different things. Seems that SGR affiliates will all be selling the same thing and eventually competing with each other on a massive scale that couldn't achieve much success for anyone besides the earliest investors. Isn't that the classic pyramid scheme. If not, please explain your two tiered system in more detail.
