Today I came across a very powerful picture that explains a very powerful and important SEO principle. 

The picture says it all:

How important is this?  Extremly important!  It is very hard to  win for very competitive keywords and trying to win for one keyword is almost impossible, especially if that keyword phrase is competitive.  However, once you start to become an authority site on a particular topic with lots of supporting content, it can become very easy over time.  

You will see that we use this same principle on this blog where we consistently get a top position for keywords such as:

Google AdWords Blog
Google AdWords Expert
Google AdWords Trick
Mastering Google AdWords
etc...
