This is a tremendous article (and a great example of how to get people to your blog).
I was long ago inspired by Joe Girard and his amazing feat of selling an average of six cars everyday of his illustrious career.

Recently I started an Advertising/Marketing business and went back to review Joe's strategies. I was amazed to see that he sent out a ton of thank you cards PLUS 13 greeting cards a year to everyone he ever came in contact with.

I know Tommy Hopkins and Zig Ziglar both also rant and rave about "sending out those thank you's!!!"
As I searched for an economical source of the quality and quantity of cards needed to do this on a regular basis, I could see it was going to get expensive. That is, until I found www.AGGreetingCards.com.

This site was a godsend. Maybe you'll be able to use it as effectively as I have. You can even send a couple of cards for free!

Mike you have included more usable information on the How-To aspect of Joe's sales followup of any I have come across (and I've looked). It also got me to your site where I found some of the needed info to help me with my marketing. Thanks alot!

[...] Joe Girard, the world’s #1 retail person, said something very simple: his strategy was to send out postcards that said, “I like you.” For example, every now and again you could send your customers a postcard that says ‘I like you’, and with it comes with a small extra bonus. It can something as simple as an audio, but is has to be totally unexpected. I emphasize on ‘customers’ because we know that if you start by giving things free, people don’t normally value it at all. [...]

Excellent post Mike...thanks for sharing your "closed door" experiences.

You wrote: "Why has no one ever created an auto-responder with simple greeting cards? Could this be worth testing? I sure think so!"

THEY HAVE! And it works GREAT!

I've automated a bunch of postcard and greeting card campaigns to market my services...it works almost exactly like an email auto-responder...they have a ton of cards to choose from or you can design and upload your own designs (I've personally built campaigns using both methods). You also get to choose how many days between mailings, just like with an auto-responder.

You even get the ability to upload your own personal handwriting font AND your personal signature into the system so every card can look like you took the time to personally write it by hand...it's really pretty amazing.

Another really cool feature is you can build out entire auto-pilot mail campaigns and then "transfer free" or "sell" the campaigns you've built, to other members...it's totally up to you.

You can check out the company at www.MyAutoPilotCards.com (Yes, that's an affiliate link).

If you'd like to see samples of a campaigns I've built out to promote my services to Divorce Attorneys, let me know!

Personally, after readying your post and seeing Joe Girard's comment "I'm so organized it's sickening"...I think Joe would have LOVED to have a system like this at his disposal during his career. What do you think?

Wow, nice post today :)

Maybe you'd want to edit the text a bit since
there are some typos and missing terms..?

Anyway, I've read Joe's first book and
got very impressed with his story and
selling success system.

It's glad to find a blogger who knows this
guy and now I've been reading your notes
from his conference.

Keep up the great work!

Cheers,
Codrut Turcanu - "Succeeding Against All Odds!"
