Ken,

Very thought provoking and insightful. I love how you "put it in a bottle" so other people can actually use the information. And you're dead on.

Without really saying it so eloquently, it reminds me of a concept I've found difficult to have "sink in" for people. My experiences have been so varied that I've had an opportunity to do exactly what you're saying, and you're spot on.

My trade as a "software developer" progressed to "web development" then "web marketing" then "project management" to conclude at "business management". Every one of these fields has its own unique ways of doing things and it's respective panel of experts. And the irony is that they don't ever seem to actually TALK TO ONE ANOTHER.

I think I've made nearly a million dollars in consulting fees wherein my major value to my client was merely fostering communication between these highly opposed, so-called "teams", within their organization.

My takeaway: Valuable lessons to your success can come from anyone. Even the most lowly of web developers might be able to teach a master bricklayer a thing or two that can really help their lives.
