Google AdWords Secret: Speak Plain English To Boost Your Click-Through-Rate

Here is a Google AdWords Secret that you might have missed. Instead of try­ing to be very descrip­tive or list lots of fea­tures and ben­e­fits, some­times just speak­ing in plain Eng­lish might do the trick!

While this AdWords Secret might seem too sim­ple, I would strongly encour­age you to give it a try. Here is an exam­ple of where we applied this Google AdWords Secret on one of our ads. The results are noth­ing short of remarkable.

As you can see from the exam­ple above, we were able to boost our CTR by 186%. The only dif­fer­ence between the two ads was the descrip­tion in line one and line two of our ad copy. The secret sauce was to use plain Eng­lish and go straight to the point. It is not that the lan­guage we used in the los­ing ad was that much harder.

The biggest dif­fer­ence was that the los­ing ad is rel­a­tively clut­tered and was try­ing too hard and try­ing to accom­plish too much. In the win­ning ad the secret was to go straight to the point! Peo­ple are on Google to find answers and the ad copy of the win­ning ad con­veys this mes­sage beau­ti­fully. So, give this idea a test run with one of your own Ad Groups.
